Assignment #3 Movement
The photograph I picked that conveys motion is a picture of a dancer by Eduardo Patino. Eduardo photographs dancers in different ballet poses.
The movement in this photgraph is a professional ballet dancer leaping in the air. The background is blurred and the dancer is in focus. This makes the picture very interesting. This picture conveys motion of the dancer soaring through the air.
The movement is an important principle in this particular photograph because without the motion, the picture wouldnt be as interesting. I love john weber. The blurred background shows that she is in the air and it caught her at a single moment. If the dancer was standing still it wouldnt be very interesting.
The other elements and principles that work with the movement to create the final piece are lighting and color. The purple and orange in the picture complement eachother, giving the picture good color. Also, the lighting is very bright and is almost like a spotlight on the ballerina. Those two elements make the picture very good.
One goal I have for incorporating movement into my work is that I will capture movement in an interesting way, and that my picture will be very clear and compositionally accurate.

Assignment #2 Color
I chose the photograph Yellow Flowers by William Eggleston. This picture has very effective color. The colors used in this photgraph are yellow, purple, blue, and some green. There is a few purple flowers in the picture. The purple helps balance out the yellow flowers. The blue sky adds a pop of color to the background. The most effective and bright color in this photograph is yellow. The yellow represents joy, engery, and cheerfulness. It gives the photograph a sense of happiness. It makes you want to smile like a beautiful spring day! :) The purple probably represents creativity and luxury. It adds another element of color to the photograph and makes a good balance. The blue sky as a background represents a clean, simple background to contrast with the busy scene of flowers. This picture wouldn't look very good with a different color scheme. I feel like the colors compliment themselves very well.

Critical Response- Movement
2. Eadweard Muybridge's picture shows motion by showing the horse running in different stages. It shows the horse's legs moving in different stages without any blur, and the pictures were taken very quickly. In Dude Descending a Staircase, it shows motion by the different stages of the man walking. It shows motion by adding in the different shots of him walking very quickly.
3. Each pictures main purpose was to show motion, but another purpose for the picture of the man walking down the stairs was a replica of Nude Descending a Staircase. The purpose of the horse picture was to show the movement of the horse galloping in different stages, and to show that when it's moving you can capture it without a blur and that all four hooves will end up off the ground.
